Guangdong Museums covers an area of 67,000 square meters in downtown Guangzhou. Containong 166,000 items, including calligraphy, paintings, ceramics, woodcarvings, and gemstone, it looks like a jewel box from the outside with five floors above ground and one floor below. There are five permanent exhibitions in the museum: Guangdong History and Culture, Chaozhou Gilded Woodcarvings, Natural Resources, Ceramics, and Duan Inkstones.

Shenzhen Museum is a multifunctional modern museum in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. It has a total area of 37,000 square meters, and a building area of 18,000 square meters. The museum was established in 1981, but was not formally opened until 1988. It holds more than 20,000 historical and cultural relics, of which the majority originate within the city. There are two exhibition halls: one is on Tongxin Road, Longgang, while the other is located within the Civic Center, Futian.

The recently-built Wangye Museum opened in October 2012. It showcases the unique collections of the antique expert, Yan Yan, and is currently the biggest private museum in China. His collections encompass the Warring States Period, the Qin, Han, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, and include books made of bones, Buddhist statues from Ancient China, Tang Dynasty porcelain, red-and-green-coloured porcelain, and other treasures.

As its name implies, the exhibition Guangdong Art Centennial Exhibition displays artworks by artists hailing from Guangdong in the past century that make a great impact in China’s fine art history. A collection of over 500 artworks are showcased to audiences.
